Warren Ellis Reopens Forum for 12 Hours

Warren Ellis reopened his legendary message board earlier today; it will be open for 12 hours, so if you're interested in checking it out, do it fast:

On his email list, Warren said: 12 hours. I realise everyone on the old WEF is cast to the four winds now, but I'd really like to hear from as many people from the old place as possible. And if you weren't around before, fuck it, come in and say hello anyway.

A Hack-A-Day

This afternoon, the Image Comics messageboard have also appeared to have been hacked. Disappearing threads and porn image sightings have been reported by users. The site is currently down with only this simple message appearing:
The message board is currently down for maintenance. Our apologies.

    -Image Comics

As you can see, Image took a very simple, cold "no comment" type approach to the problem. Meanwhile, over at Gutterzombie, the admin turned the site into a blog updating users on the status of their site, with more pictures of cute birds.

Two comic book boards have been hit the last two days. Someone must have it out for comics.

Going to the Birds

Gutter Zombie, a message board for comic colorists, was apparently hacked yesterday. The board is down, having been replaced by a message from the admin:

Looks like GZ got attacked. If I had to guess what happened i'd say some kids found a script that hits known security exploits on older versions of PHPBB. If you're wondering, no, we don't stay right up to date with the latest PHPBB. The modifications we've done to the basic forum software make it a bit of a headache to set it all up again.

In the meantime, Here's a picture of my budgie, hopefully she'll lift your spirits.

I have no idea what "PHPBB" means. Cool bird, though.
